Picchioni Buttafuoco dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC
An entry point to understanding the historic Buttafuoco wine: a blend of Barbera, Croatina and Ughetta di Solinga. Intense ruby red colour with violet highlights. The bouquet is rich with floral and red fruits notes, and hints of faded rose and blackberry. Smooth and round on palate with a long finish. The wine is aged in concrete (no oak) for extended periods before release.
Pairing suggestions: salami, pasta, lasagna or white meats.

Gambero Rosso Guide to Italian Wines
17 JR (2018 vintage): "Totally captivating nose of forest fruit and sour cherry with an undertow of stalky spiciness. Vibrant, full, cherry and dark-fruit palate with supple tannins. The new generation that doesn't come a minute too early to rescue this ancient DOC. Enjoyment factor = max." (Walter Speller)
